Informed Consent Design Lecture

September 26 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 pm IST

Session four of our 2024 Education Series will focus on informed consent design.

This one-hour lecture covers essential aspects of creating patient information leaflets (PILs) and consent forms, which are critical tools in the research recruitment process. A patient information leaflet is a mandatory document for recruiting participants into any type of research study and must be approved by an ethics committee before use. It ensures that potential participants receive all necessary information about the study in a clear and accessible manner.

During this lecture, you will:

Explore the origins of informed consent, tracing its historical and ethical foundations. Learn best practices for writing clear, concise, and comprehensive patient information leaflets (PILs) and consent forms that meet the needs of diverse participant groups. Understand legal requirements and ethical guidelines governing informed consent, including the approval process with ethics committees and regulatory standards.

Who should attend:

This lecture is designed for individuals whose roles involve creating or reviewing PILs and consent forms. It is equally valuable for those with experience in these areas who wish to refine and update their skills, ensuring they remain aligned with the latest best practices and legal requirements.

Whether you’re new to writing consent documents or looking to enhance your existing knowledge, this session will provide you with the tools and insights necessary to effectively support informed consent in research.

Attening this course will provide 1 CPD point in compliance with NMBI.
