Background

Aoife qualified in general and paediatric nursing in 2011. She began her research career in 2014 at UCD Clinical Research Centre, where she spent several years working as a Research Nurse.

In 2020, Aoife moved into a management position, leading a team of Research Nurses and driving clinical research activity at UCD, CRC. She completed her master’s in Clinical and Translational Research in 2018.

Aoife joined the Clinical Research Platform in January 2026, taking on the role as Clinical Operations Manager. The Clinical Research Platform (CRP) is an Irish Site Management Organisation (SMO) established in 2017 to expand access to and delivery of clinical research across Ireland. CRP partners with hospitals, clinics, and investigators to build and support dedicated research infrastructure, enabling the efficient start-up and delivery of clinical trials. With an established and growing network of sites nationwide, CRP provides experienced research staff, centralised feasibility and start-up processes, and end-to-end study management support, helping to increase Ireland’s participation in global clinical research.

As Clinical Operations Manager Aoife is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of clinical trials across the network. This includes managing site operations, resourcing and workforce planning, study start-up and performance oversight, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. She works closely with investigators, sponsors, and CROs to optimise study delivery, improve timelines, and support the continued growth and development of CRP’s research network
