DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, April 24\, 2019 | 1:00-2:00PM EST\nFree Educational Webinar\nPresented by: Joanna Gray\, Clinical Manager NIHR/WT Birmingham CRF\, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust\nA workforce planning tool for clinical researchers adapted from US clinical research centres has helped staff in the UK with widely accepted metrics that provide recognised\, valuable data and evidence. \nThis session explores the UK Clinical Research Facilities Network (UKCRFN) Study Intensity tool (SIT) as a research specific workforce planning tool which originated in the general clinical research centers of the USA. With permission it has been adapted and developed for use in the UK. Its development has been driven by the UKCRFN Intensity Working Group (IWG). \nThe wide dissemination and recognition of the metrics produced by the tool means that it is widely accepted as a measure of workforce planning within a research setting. This information is already utilised by the National Institute for Health Research funded Clinical Research Facilities in reporting annual metrics and therefore supports a consistent national approach to metrics reporting. It has also provided supporting evidence in the justification for an increase in resources when presenting business cases for additional research staff across a variety of research infrastructures.\nPlease Note: Complion will provide all registered attendees with a certificate of attendance for self-reporting continuing education credits\, within (1) day of the live presentation. \nAbout the Presenter\nJoanna Gray\, Clinical Manager NIHR/WT Birmingham CRF\, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust \n  \nJo is currently the Clinical Manager of the NIHR / WT Birmingham CRF at UHB which employs approximately 60 staff across both the core crf and inflammation research facility (IRF) and has previously led on numerous trials before joining the CRF management team in 2008. DESCRIPTION:The National Children’s Research Centre based at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital\, Crumlin\, delivers ‘Introduction to Paediatric Clinical Research & Good Clinical Practice (GCP)’ training courses for Investigators and associated research site personnel. \nThis one day course is relevant to Principal Investigators\, research nurses and associated research site personnel who have not undertaken GCP training within the previous 2 years. The following content is included: \n– Introduction to Paediatric Drug Development and Clinical Research\n– Research Ethics and Research Governance\n– Principles of ICH-GCP (including integrated addendum E6 (R2))\n– Investigator Responsibilities\n– Essential Documents\n– Regulatory Inspections \nIt also includes practical workshops and opportunities for discussion. \nScheduled dates for 2019 \n• 10th April 2019\n• 12th June 2019\n• 27th September 2019\n• 29th November 2019 \nThe course is accredited by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) – 6 CEUs.
